The Faculty of Consulting Examiners is appointed from public and independent institutions of higher education in Connecticut.
Charter Oak has three groups of faculty: Core, Teaching, and Special Assessment.
Core Consulting Faculty
The Core Consulting Faculty is appointed from public and independent institutions of higher education in Connecticut. Their functions are to establish degree requirements, to review the program of individual candidates, to approve recommendations of outside examiners in specific subjects when required, to validate specific credits, and to make recommendations to the Board for awarding of degrees. A degree from Charter Oak State College reflects the standards of the community of accredited institutions in Connecticut and the surrounding region.
Teaching Faculty
The Teaching Faculty develop and instruct Charter Oak's courses. They have master's degrees or higher and are often practitioners in their field. The Teaching Faculty are all part time and come from across the country.
Special Assessment Faculty
Special Assessment Faculty are appointed on a contingent basis for advisory and/or evaluative services to augment the scope of professional expertise of the Core Faculty.
