Barrington, Rhode Island resident named Charter Oak student speaker
NEW BRITAIN, CT - Charter Oak State College, Connecticut's public online college, has announced April M. Cox, of Barrington, Rhode Island, as student speaker for the College's commencement ceremony on May 31 in Welte Auditorium at Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, CT.
Cox completed a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Organizational Leadership and will be inducted into the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society as well as be awarded the Doris G. Cassiday Award during the commencement ceremony.
April says she selected Charter Oak due to the flexibility provided and the ability to maximize her options to earn her degree quickly. "My goal was to finish my Bachelor's as quickly as possible in order to realize my dream of getting into an MBA program. I needed the flexibility and guidance that Charter Oak provided. They took my previous credits, gave me options to utilize my life experience and awarded me college credit for my certification in Project Management."
"Because there are two sessions per semester I was able to take two courses each session and still hold down my full time job as well as take standardized tests to accelerate things for me." Cox says "I highly recommend Charter Oak to anyone looking to maximize options and time. I plan to be an active member of the Alumni Association and am proud to be a Charter Oak graduate. I'm excited to see what's next for me as I begin the journey toward an executive MBA."
