Military Partners

Charter Oak is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges.

We are also proud to partner with the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard and Army National Guard Education Support Center to facilitate degree completion for servicemembers and their spouses. Our military transfer counselor works with education officers to assist in the collection and submission of necessary documentation.

Army National Guard Education Support Center
If you or your spouse is a member of the Army National Guard, you may seek initial degree planning from the Army National Guard Education Support Center (ESC). The ESC is located at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Counselors at ESC will perform a preliminary evaluation of your existing credit as it applies to one of Charter Oak's general studies degrees. When you're ready to complete your degree, you can contact the military transfer advisor to discuss your options. You can then submit your application directly to the College along with your official transcripts and degree plan to Charter Oak to begin the process. If applicable, you will need to request your AARTS transcript and have it forwarded to Charter Oak.

U.S. Coast Guard
Charter Oak State College is a longtime partner with the U.S. Coast Guard and member of SOCCOAST since its inception. Servicemembers and spouses can contact the military counselor to explore their options. The next step would be to complete the application online and have all of the colleges you have attended submit official transcripts directly to Charter Oak, including the Coast Guard Institute transcript of military training and education. Upon matriculation, successful completion of the IDS 101 Cornerstone course and faculty approval of a concentration plan of study, Charter Oak will issue a SOC Student Agreement.

U.S. Navy
Charter Oak is a proud member of the Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership. Our three partnership programs include the Bachelor of Science degree with concentration in Business Administration, Health Care Administration and Public Safety Administration which are all approved by SOCNAV. Sailors can review Degree Road Maps based on their rating on our Navy webpages and contact the military transfer advisor to further discuss their plans. Formal application to the College initiates the next step including the online application and requesting official transcripts from all of the colleges attended be submitted directly to Charter Oak, including the SMART transcript of military training and education. Upon matriculation, successful completion of the IDS 101 Cornerstone course and faculty approval of a concentration plan of study, Charter Oak will issue a SOC Student Agreement.

American Council on Education
