Certificate Programs
Charter Oak's certificate programs are perfect for professionals and adult learners
seeking continuing education and career advancement opportunities.
Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care - a voluntary professional development certificate comprised of 12 credits and created
through collaboration among Charter Oak State College and Connecticut Charts-A-Course
along with local and statewide experts in the field.
- Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care
If you have at least one year's experience working with infants and toddlers in a
licensed center based or family care program, current first aid and CPR training,
then you may be an excellent candidate for this program.
Alternate Route to Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education - A six month intensive teacher certification program with online and in-class weekend
instruction.
The following certificate courses are all offered online, in accelerated, convenient,
5- or 8-week terms. Students do not even need to be matriculated with the college.
- Computer Security Certificate
This program will serve you well of you have a general background in computer technology and/or
security, have a desire to learn about the lastest security issues and/or aspire to
specialize in a specifc area.
- Health Insurance Customer Service Certificate
If you are currently employed in the health insurance industry and seek oppurtunity
to advance your career, or if you are interested in transitioning into the field,
the Health Insurance Customer Service certificate wil be a valuable asset.
- Leadership in Health Care Administration Certificate
This program primarly serves the career advancement objectives of individual already
employed in such health care related areas as Clinical, Allied Health, Insurance and
Medical Office. The curriculum focuses on leadership in health care, health care law
and the economics of health care.
- Paralegal
If you have earned your bachelor's degree in another subject area and are interested
in pursuing a career in the paralegal field, Charter Oak has developed a post-baccalaureate
Paralegal Certificate program that focuses primarly on core competencies.
- Project Management Certificate
Does your current position require project management skills, or are you looking
for a career that does? This certificate program is designed to assist professionals,
with some college credits and work experience, in developing valuable project management
skills.
- Public Safety Certificate
Are you a public safety professional with some college education and work experience?
If so, you probably already possess strong technical skills in fire science, criminal
justice, or law enforcement. You may, however, lack the management training necessary
to truly advance your career. The Public Safety Administration Certificate provides
the advanced management education that helps public safety professionals succeed as
managers and administrators.
