Types of Online Courses
Charter Oak has developed courses that are conducted in an electronic environment. Participation in these courses requires a computer and a connection to the Internet. Most include online discussions of course content which take the place of on-ground classroom discussions. The CTDLC hosts Charter Oak's distance learning courses. The computer requirements can be found under "Blackboard" at Minimum Requirements.
Online courses come in several term lengths:
- Full semester (15 weeks)
- Accelerated (8 weeks) - available as the first or second term within a semester
- Session courses (5 weeks) - includes many of the certificate courses in Public Safety and Computer Security.
